POST SECONDARY ENROLLMENT OPTION (PSEO) PROGRAM

The PSEO program provides Minnesota high school students with the opportunity to take college courses on college campuses or online. Students can do PSEO at many colleges and universities, public and private, throughout the state of Minnesota. There is typically no cost to the student for these classes. Transportation vouchers to help get to a college campus may be available for qualifying low-income students. Students must meet the criteria set by the college or university they plan to attend, which may include different and more rigorous requirements than expected of high school graduates. More detailed information on the annual PSEO informational meeting and on the PSEO program at Rochester Community and Technical College (where the majority of Century PSEO students take their classes) appears below.

Post Secondary Enrollment Option (PSEO) Program

Thursday, February 8, 2018 – 6:30 pm – RCTC Fieldhouse

On Thursday, February 8, 2018 at 6:30 p.m. there will be a  meeting for any present 9th, 10th, or 11th grader interested in full or part-time PSEO for the 2018-2019 school year. This meeting will be held in the RCTC Fieldhouse. In the PSEO program, qualified 10th, 11th and 12th graders may take courses through RCTC (or another participating post-secondary institution) that count toward high school graduation. All interested PSEO students should attend this program with a parent in order to sign up for PSEO next school year. Attendance will be taken.

Representatives from both the University of Minnesota - Rochester and RCTC will present information and be available for questions about their programs.

Students who are presently participating in the PSEO program DO NOT NEED TO ATTEND this meeting.

If you attended this meeting last year, you do not have to attend the meeting again this year.

Students wishing to take courses through the Post Secondary Enrollment Option Program (PSEO) need to meet the admission criteria set by the college or university they plan to attend, and colleges may be more selective regarding PSEO students than with regular college age students. At RCTC, this means having at least a 3.0 GPA to attend as a High School Junior or at least a 2.5 GPA to attend as a High School Senior. Sophomores may be eligible to take a limited number of career/technical courses through PSEO as well.
