Policies & Expectations

Policies & Expectations

Policies & expectations in art and graphic design classes are very similar to other classes at Century, but there are some differences.

Please view specific behavior expectations here: Behavior Plan.pdf

Extensions on Assignments
If you have any of the following, you will not be eligible for extensions on assignments:

-6 or more tardies during the semester
-3 or more unexcused absences during the semester
-If you habitually use work time inappropriately*.

*Mrs. Quam reserves the right to refuse extensions if you do not use work time wisely. Extensions beyond the due date are a privilege.

Late or unfinished assignments will lose points and affect your learning/progress in each class if you do not have an extension. Each day the assignment is late without an extension, you will lose 5% of your grade on that assignment.

Late or Missing Assignments
Late or unfinished assignments will lose points and affect your learning/progress in each class if you do not have an extension. Extensions are provided on a student-by-student basis.

Each day the assignment is late without an extension or excused absence, you will lose 5% of your grade on that assignment. Missing assignments that are never turned in by the end of the quarter will result in a permanent grade of a 0.

Passes
You are required to ask the teacher anytime you need to leave the room. This ensures your safety & the responsibility of Mrs. Quam.

If you have a health concern or medical issue that requires you to leave class frequently, please speak to Mrs. Quam. If you habitually ask for passes every class time without a medical notice or arrangement with Mrs. Quam, you may lose your privilege to leave the class without an escort (usually an administrator).

If you leave class without permission, you will be marked unexcused absent.

You may ask for a pass for the following reasons:
-Bathroom
-Drinking fountain
-Counselor
-Locker (if it pertains to class)
-Nurse

You are not allowed to leave class to talk to a friend, bring books to your locker, hang out in the hallway, go to another classroom, or to get food.
