Magazine Ad / Poster Design

#1 Rule of Thirds
Many designers, artists, and photographers use the rule of thirds to create interesting and captivating work. Read the "Rule of Thirds" article here: Rule_of_Thirds.docx. You do not have to answer questions about this article, but you will need to know the Rule of Thirds for this project, so read carefully & thoroughly.

#2 Magazine Ad Analysis

-Download this handout: Magazine Ad Analysis.docx
-Find a physical (not online) magazine ad to analyze. You must find your own ad-- no sharing with friends. Tear it out of the magazine. Answer the questions on the above handout about this ad.
-Print the ad analysis handout, paperclip the ad to the handout, & give to Mrs. Quam to be graded.
-The magazine ad analysis is due by end of class Friday, November 4th, 2016 (part of your first quarter grade)

#3 Create your Design Plan
-Using the requirements listed below, draw your design plan for your magazine ad or poster design on plain computer paper or scratch paper. Make sure you include all requirements. Show Mrs. Quam to start your design on Photoshop. The design plan is due by the end of class Monday, November 7th, 2016 (part of your first quarter grade)
