Billboard Design - 25 pts

1. Read "Six Steps to Making a Great Billboard" here: https://www.thebalance.com/six-steps-to-making-a-great-billboard-ad-38479

2. Download & print this handout: Billboard design.docx

3. Complete the two design plan ideas on the handout. Have Mrs. Quam check this off for the gradebook. Design plans are worth 10% of the total grade.
-If you work alone, complete the 2 design plans
-If you work with a partner, each student creates 1 design plan
-If you work in a group of 3, each student creates 1 design plan

4. Start creating your Billboard design in Photoshop and follow the requirements below:
ÞEach student in the group needs to create one billboard design.
ÞSize of file in Photoshop should be 1344 pixels X 4608 pixels -OR- 14"x48" in size.
Þ72 dpi resolution.
ÞUse mainly illustration (brush tool, shape tool, pencil tool, etc.)
ÞYou may choose to include your logo or not
ÞUse color theory to attract attention-- you don't have to use your color scheme
ÞBillboards often use humor in their advertising. Think about a way you could add a dose of humor to your own billboard design.
ÞText should be limited to title of business, contact information, and a slogan/quote/quick description of business. Too much text is hard to read while driving!
ÞSave your billboard design as a .png and upload it to your Weebly portfolio.
Each member of your advertising team needs to have their own billboard design finished & uploaded for full points!

Due date: Tuesday, November 29th, 2016 by end of class
